Pyramid Desalinator: Turning seawater into fresh water to quench the thirst of millions

We have always maintained that the smallest life-saving technology or gadget is always a lot more valuable than those fancy concept models which promise to cut down a fraction of carbon emissions and yet ultimately never make their way out into the real world. Not to say that we do not enjoy those, but the practical solutions that make an impact on the lives of people in the real world and offer solutions to some of the more serious problems plaguing the planet today surely deserve more time under the spotlight. And the Pyramid Desalinator designed by the students of North­eastern Uni­ver­sity is surely one of those.
